The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 is scheduled to begin on March 31, and ace batter Virat Kohli has joined the Royal Challengers Bangalore camp ahead of the start of the tournament.

As the Indian batting maestro joined the camp on March 25th in Bangalore, fans spotted a stylish new tattoo on the 34-year-old’s arm. The video of his arrival in Bengaluru went viral as fans pondered over Kohli’s new tattoo.

Kohli will be up for RCB in IPL 2023, aiming to end the trophy drought for the franchise as they start their campaign against the five-time champions Mumbai Indians on April 2 at the M Chinnasawmy Stadium in Bengaluru. While RCB would aim to go strong from the very start this time around, MI would also wish to overcome their forgettable campaign of IPL 2022 where they finished last on the points table.

Kohli could be key for RCB at the 2023 IPL

One of the most integral players in the squad, Virat Kohli’s repertoire with the bat is second to none. In the 223 matches that the ace batter has played in the competition, he has accumulated 6624 runs to his name. However, despite his excellence in the tournament, the coveted IPL trophy has always eluded him and his side.

However, things could be different for the batting maestro this time around, producing excellent knocks in recent matches with the Indian team, Kohli will look to convert his international form into the IPL. If he is able to come through and put out his best performances, then RCB could be pushing a strong case for themselves in the forthcoming tournament.

With players like Harshal Patel, Faf du Plessis, Rajat Patidar, Glenn Maxwell, and many more, the franchise has a good mix of young talent and experienced veterans by their side, which could prove to be key for them going into the competition.
