On December 30, 2022, Rishabh Pant was involved in a terrifying car accident, which resulted in the wicketkeeper-batter being admitted in the hospital for weeks. He has been bed ridden for quite some time, and has been undergoing treatment. The 25-year-old keeps sharing videos of his recovery process, and recently had shared a video of him walking in a swimming pool.

Pant has been using crutches for a while now, and the entire nation would be hoping for him to recover well and get back into action. The Indian national team's next assignment will be the World Test Championship final, which is set to be played at The Oval starting June 7 against Australia. India recently defeated Australia in the four-match Test series of the Border Gavaskar Trophy, and would be hoping to repeat similar heroics in the WTC final.

Rishabh Pant, on the other hand, will be missing out on the all-important event, and will most likely be out of the squad for the ODI World Cup, which is scheduled to be played in India later this year. Pant's absence is being felt in the Delhi Capitals squad currently, as the side lost their campaign opener against Lucknow Super Giants after a poor outing with both the bat and the ball.

They would be hoping to turn the tables around in the game against defending champions Gujarat Titans, who won the toss and put the home side to bat first.
