Reigning champions Gujarat Titans are all over a struggling Delhi Capitals in the early stages of their clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Gujarat's wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha contributed to his side's early dominance after pouching a spectacular catch to send back Manish Pandey. The veteran Gujarat player joined an illustrious list of players after becoming the third most successful wicketkeeper in the competition's history.
David Warner's visiting Delhi Capitals were all at sea against Gujarat Titans' pace attack, especially Mohammed Shami, who dismissed Delhi opener Phil Salt on the very first delivery of the match. The veteran Indian pacer was getting tremendous assistance from the surface in front of his home crowd and accounted for the incoming Rilee Rossouw with a peach of delivery in his second over.
His golden touch with the ball continued in his next over as he dismissed his compatriot Manish Pandey with a brilliant delivery. However, GT's wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha deserves a lot of credit for that wicket as he flung himself to his right to complete a one-handed stunner. Incidentally, Pandey's wicket was Saha's 100th dismissal in the IPL, the third most in the competition, only behind MS Dhoni and Dinesh Karthik.
The veteran Indian wicketkeeper added another victim to his tally after Priyam Garg edged a delivery from Shami in the penultimate over of the powerplay. Saha, who made his IPL debut for Kolkata Knight Riders in 2008 has 78 catches and 23 stumping to his name in the illustrious competition.
