Bhojpuri commentators irked the fans with their usage of words during the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) versus Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) clash on Saturday, March 23.
The iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata saw an edge-of-the-seat thriller on Saturday as two former champions of the Indian Premier League (IPL) brought their A-game to the fore. After KKR amassed 208/7 in their 20 overs, Heinrich Klaasen's blitzkrieg kept the visitors in the hunt till the last over.
In the penultimate over, Klaasen pulled Mitchell Starc for a six over deep mid-wicket off the third ball. The Bhojpuri commentators described the shot in a manner that was appalling to the cricket enthusiasts as they shared their feeling on social media. One of the fans tagged popular Bhojpuri actors Ravi Kishan and Manoj Tiwari as well as BCCI secretary Jay Shah and demanded the sacking of those commentators.

Another fan mentioned that IPL is watched by families at their dinner tables. He said that with the use of "double meaning lines", Bhojpuri commentary is getting popular for the wrong reasons.
This commentator must be sacked!! IPL is something mostly all family members watch on their dinner table! Such cheap commentary with double meaning lines will take the whole purpose of publicising Bhojpuri down!!

Eventually, Klaasen's heroic knock of 63 runs off just 29 balls ended in the final over before KKR won by four runs. Harshit Rana displayed nerves of steel and defended 13 runs in the last over, helping the former two-time champions bag their first points of the season. Andre Russell won the Player of the Match award for his all-round display. He scored an unbeaten 64 off 25 balls and also bagged a couple of wickets.
