Bangladesh's impending T20I series against Zimbabwe has made Rahman’s head turn towards national duty.
Mustafizur Rahman has left a lasting impression in the Indian Premier League 2024 with his outings. The Chennai Super Kings pacer was at his lethal best in the initial games. He had struck crucial breakthroughs for CSK in the powerplays. But the pacer has had to bid adieu to the cash-rich league midway. Bangladesh's impending T20I series against Zimbabwe has made Rahman’s head turn towards national duty.
CSK’s game against Punjab Kings on May 1 was Rahman’s last match in the IPL 2024. Before saying goodbye to his newfound family in India, he received a departing gift from the legend MS Dhoni. Dhoni provided the left-arm pacer a signed jersey of his with a warm note on it. The Bangladesh speedster shared the picture of the same on his social media account and thanked Dhoni for his guidance throughout.
“Thanks for everything Mahi bhai. It was a special feeling to share the same dressing room with a legend like you. Thanks for keeping faith in me every time. Appreciating your valuable tips, I will remember those things. Looking forward to meeting and playing with you again soon,” Rahman wrote in a post on ‘X’.

"There are a lot of ins and outs. Chahar's injury does not look good. The initial feeling was not great, so I am hoping for a positive report when the physio and doctor have a look. Richard Gleeson (debutant) was good, it was a positive. Losing Mustafizur, there is a lot happening. Tushar has a flu, we lost him and had to make a few changes, which is unusual,” said Stephen Fleming in the pre-match press conference.
