IPL 2024: Jasprit Bumrah imparts valuable advice to Mayank Yadav and Yash Thakur after LSG vs MI

Jasprit Bumrah was seen interacting with LSG pacers after the match between MI and LSG in the IPL 2024. LSG beat MI by four wickets to enter the third position in the points table. Despite the loss, Bumrah bowled well, where he conceded just 17 runs in his spell of four overs without claiming a wicket. The Indian pacer has the legacy of being the best bowler in the world. 

Youngsters love to learn from him. However many experts believed that Bumrah must be approachable to the youngsters and allow them to learn from him to pass the baton from his generation to the younger generation. It seems like the MI pacer has heard the opinions. The right-arm pacer set up his YouTube channel recently where he is likely to post videos on his bowling.

After the game between LSG and MI, Bumrah was seen advising the young pacers of LSG. Donning his purple cap, the 30-year-old was seen gesturing the bowling tricks to the likes of Yash Thakur and Mayank Yadav who were nodding heads to the notes from the star pacer. Alongside him, the coaches of LSG were present. The official handle of IPL posted the clip on their social media account.

It was good to see an established pacer like Bumrah assisting the young pacers to keep getting better. In the match against MI, Yadav bowled well. The emerging pacer conceded 31 runs in three overs and got the wicket of Mohammad Nabi. Despite returning from injury, he was able to clock speeds of over 150 kmph consistently. Yash Thakur did not play the game against MI as Naveen-Ul-Haq was brought in his place.

After the match, Justin Langer was in the post-match conference. Mayank returned to the dugout after bowling three overs as he picked up an injury. Langer was asked about the extent of Mayank's injury. The LSG coach said that he did not speak with Yadav. The Australian added that Mayank had slight pain on his side. He felt there was no need to risk the youngster and that's why the team did not ask him to bowl the fourth over.

"I have not really spoken to him. He had slight pain in his side and after the first ball, he said that there was a bit of pain. Though there was no need to risk it, he is still a young lad," said Langer. He further talked about the bowling of Yadav. Justin added that pace is not the only skill of the right-arm pacer and said that he would learn more with time. The former Australia batter asked Mayank to just enjoy his bowling. 

"It is not just the pace. In this game, he showed he has more skills than bowling 150-plus. The more he plays, the more he will learn when to bowl what. Right now, we have given him a free hand to just enjoy himself and bowl what he wants," added Langer in his statement.
