In a surprising turn of events, Lucknow Super Giants bid farewell to assistant coach Vijay Dahiya as they gear up for the upcoming IPL 2024 season. Dahiya, the former India wicketkeeper, had been an integral part of the Super Giants' support staff led by Andy Flower since the team's inception in 2022.

The move comes in the aftermath of LSG appointing former Australia opener and chief coach Justin Langer as their new head coach, choosing not to renew the contract of Andy Flower after the IPL 2023 season. In the same vein, Daahiya took to his social media to wish luck to his former franchise for the upcoming IPL season.

"Time to bid adieu...LSG. Lucknow Super Giants, it was a wonderful experience working with the team over the past two years. Wishing team LSG all the very best," the former Assistant coach Dahiya wrote in his farewell message on his Instagram handle.

Lucknow Super Giants had a commendable start to their IPL journey, making the playoffs in 2022 and 2023. Dahiya, who shared a close working relationship with former mentor Gautam Gambhir, witnessed the departure of Gambhir earlier in the year as the World Cup-winning opener returned to Kolkata Knight Riders in a new role.

Vijay Dahiya, a former cricketer who played two Tests and 19 ODIs for India between 2000 and 2001, brings a wealth of coaching experience. Before his stint with LSG, he served as the coach of the Uttar Pradesh team and worked with the Kolkata Knight Riders franchise as their assistant coach and talent scout for the Delhi Capitals.

LSG's IPL 2024 adventure with a fresh coaching crew

Lucknow Super Giants have undergone several changes in their coaching staff, appointing former India spinner Sridharan Sriram as one of their assistant coaches for the IPL 2024 season. The team, under the coaching prowess of Justin Lanager, look forward to building on their past successes and making a mark in the upcoming season.

Moving forward, it will be intriguing to see how LSG, led by star Indian batter KL Rahul, perform in the upcoming edition of the IPL with a new coaching staff.
