The coveted Indian Premier League 2024 edition (IPL 2024) has already been plagued with several injury concerns. In game 48 of the ongoing cricket carnival, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) took on Mumbai Indians (MI), where they were marred with yet another injury scare in Lucknow. The new pace sensation Mayank Yadav for a second time has faced the wrath of producing some mind-boggling pace.

The incident happened in the penultimate over of MI's batting in the first innings. In the 19th over, after bowling the first delivery where the pacer dismissed Mohammad Nabi. Thereafter, he started to walk off the field. Notably, Yadav has already missed five matches of the ongoing IPL 2024 after sustaining a side strain injury.

Now only time will whether his injury has resurfaced or was it just a niggle. Meanwhile, earlier today, Lucknow Super Giants skipper KL Rahul revealed that he pushed his team's medical unit to make all efforts to get Mayank Yadav ready for the clash with Mumbai Indians. However, it now seems like the decision has seemed to backfired as the tournament's business end is approaching and his possible absence will only hurt the chances of Lucknow when it will matter the most.

How did Mayank Yadav fare in his comeback IPL 2024 match against MI?

Speaking of his bowling, the 21-year-old gun bowler yet again clocked 150 km plus speed consistently. Hence, he was seemingly looking all fine on his much-awaited return. During his spell of 3.1 overs, Mayank Yadav remained on an expensive side where the pitch was playing sluggish and it was not easy to score runs for the batters.

In totality, Mayank Yadav conceded 31 runs and had an expensive economy of 9.78. In the aftermath of his walking off the field, speedster Naveen-ul-Haq completed the pending five deliveries for LSG.
