Chennai Super Kings (CSK) squad is currently in Mumbai ahead of their clash against arch-rivals Mumbai Indians at the iconic Wankhede Stadium on Sunday, April 14. On the eve of the El Clásico encounter, Chennai's Mahendra Singh Dhoni was captured at the BCCI headquarters, located at the venue's neighbourhood in Churchgate. Meanwhile, Dhoni was seen getting a glimpse of the World Cup 2011 silverware, that India won under his own captaincy.
The former Indian skipper's reunion with the coveted trophy turned into a very nostalgic moment, as the then 29-year-old had helped India bring the cup home after 28 long years. The Ranchi-born had hit the winning six to win the final against Sri Lanka at Wankhede, the memories of which are still afresh in the hearts of every Indian cricket fanatics.

The Men in Blue's momentous World Cup triumph is arguably the best memory for the fans and for every athlete who was a part of the winning squad. Led by Dhoni, this victory marked the dominance of Indian team in world cricket, after suffering a humiliating defeat at the 2007 edition, as Greg Chappell coached the squadron. The win in 2011 against Sri Lanka, who were into the finals for the second consecutive time, also marks as the greatest comebacks by a team.

Speaking of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024, Dhoni has handed over the captaincy reigns to Ruturaj Gaikwad, while Hardik Pandya is leading Mumbai replacing Rohit Sharma. However, the fierce rivalry between two of the most successful franchises in the cash-rich league is the most sought-after encounter every season. This time round, this will be the only league stage game between the two, as they're placed in different groups.
