The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season has been full of surprises, and the latest one came in the 30th match between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Monday, April 15. In the match that saw the highest total ever scored in the IPL, SRH emerged victorious by 25 runs, thanks to a brilliant performance from their Australian opener, Travis Head.
Following the match, Australian pacer Pat Cummins, who is leading SRH, posted a photo on his Instagram handle with his teammate Travis Head, who scored the match-winning century. Cummins captioned the post, "287 runs in a T20 🤯 🤯 🤯", which caught the attention of Marnus Labuschagne, who is not a part of the IPL 2024 season.

Labuschagne, who is Cummins and Head's teammate in the Australian national team, commented on the post, "Wow 🤯🤯", expressing his awe at the high-scoring game. However, Cummins couldn't resist taking a hilarious dig at Labuschagne, replying, "@marnus3 you'd clear the fence here at Bangalore." The exchange between the two Aussies showed the camaraderie the two share off the cricket field.
SRH registered their fourth win of the season
After being put in to bat first, SRH launched an all-out assault on the inexperienced RCB bowling attack, posting a mammoth total of 287/3 in their 20 overs. Head was the star of the show, scoring a breathtaking 102 off just 41 balls, which included nine fours and eight sixes. The wicketkeeper-batter Heinrich Klaasen also played a crucial role, scoring 67 off 31 balls, including two fours and seven sixes.

In response, RCB gave a commendable fight. Openers Virat Kohli and skipper Faf du Plessis started well and stitched an 80-run opening partnership. In the end, Dinesh Karthik scored a blistering 83 off 35 balls, including five fours and seven sixes. However, the asking rate proved too much for the RCB batters, and they ultimately fell short by 25 runs, finishing their innings on 262/7.
With this, SRH registered their fourth win of the season and find themselves in the fourth position on the points table. They will face Delhi Capitals in their next fixture on April 20 in Delhi.
