With just 19 days remaining for the Indian Premier League 2024 to get underway, Star Sports shared their promo for the competition, which features the likes of Lucknow Super Giants skipper KL Rahul, Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant, recently-appointed MI leader Hardik Pandya, and the returning Kolkata Knight Riders’ helmsman Shreyas Iyer.

The video started with Rishabh Pant dressed as a Punjabi man, watching the moment when MS Dhoni lifted Ravindra Jadeja after winning the IPL in 2023. The 26-year-old, who missed last season’s IPL due to injuries, was seen acting as crying watching the visuals as the video then shifted towards Iyer, who was dressed like a ‘Bangali Babu’.

He was seen dancing on top of the table wearing a dhoti after Rinku Singh’s visual of hitting five sixes was shown on the television. The KKR captain then put a sweet in the mouth of an elderly person as the video eventually shifted towards KL Rahul, who is shown as a studious person. In the video, the LSG skipper was seen studying but was also keeping an eye on the game. He was portrayed as an RCB fan, who was protesting after a decision went against them.

“Out hi nahi hai yaar! Paagal hai yeh log,” Rahul could be heard saying in the video.

The video ended with Hardik Pandya in a corporate attire. He was shown to be in a meeting with Japanese delegates, and later not knowing how to eat with chopsticks. Pandya started playing Dandiya with them as the visuals of Mumbai Indians winning their fifth IPL title were shown on television. The Japanese delegates started dancing with him as the promo rolled out.

‘Tata IPL Gazab, Rang Dikhega Ajab’ was shown on the screen as the video moved towards its close. Notably, the upcoming edition of the cash-rich tournament will begin on March 22, with defending champions Chennai Super Kings taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium Stadium, to be played in Chennai. Punjab Kings will take on Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad on Day 2, while Rajasthan Royals will play against Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans will host Mumbai Indians on Day 3 of the competition.
