The legendary Ravichandran Ashwin won hearts of cricket enthusiasts after he gave his autograph and clicked a picture with his young little fans at the airport as Rajasthan Royals (RR) made the trip to Mumbai for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) fixture.

On Saturday, March 30, the Royals took a flight to Mumbai from Jaipur to play their first away game of the season against Mumbai Indians on Monday, April 1. At the Jaipur airport, two little fans saw Ashwin and were understandably ecstatic. They went on to ask the Tamil Nadu spinner for an autograph and a picture. The 37-year-old fulfilled the wish of the two kids as he posed for a picture and also gave his autograph. After the wholesome moment, the two fans were thrilled and the joy on their faces was pleasing to watch.

The touching video was uploaded by the Royals on their official social media handles and in the caption, they wrote: "Wherever he goes..."

Ashwin has played 281 international games for India, including 100 Tests. He is only behind Anil Kumble in terms of most Test wickets taken by an Indian bowler. During the recent Test series against England, Ashwin completed the milestone of 500 wickets in the longest format of the game.

How has Ravichandran Ashwin fared in the first two games of IPL 2024?

While Rajasthan have started strongly in IPL 2024, the same cannot be said about Ashwin. The veteran off-spinner has picked up just one wicket from the first two games at an average of 65 and an economy rate of 9.29. However, he made a vital contribution with the bat after being promoted to No. 5 in Rajasthan's most recent clash against Delhi Capitals. The right-handed batter scored a quickfire 29 off 19 balls, hitting three sixes. This knock came after the Royals were in a spot of bother at 36/3 in the eighth over.

Rajasthan Royals have had a dream start to the 17th edition of the IPL. They got their campaign underway with a comfortable 20-run win against Lucknow Super Giants at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Rajasthan skipper Saju Samson starred with a half-century in this clash. The first-ever IPL champions followed it up with a 12-run win against Delhi Capitals in their second home game after Riyan Parag scored a brilliant 84 not out.
