With the 17th edition of the IPL (Indian Premier League) looming around the corner, various franchises have begun their preparation for the marquee tournament, and the five-time champions Mumbai Indians are one of them.

Ahead of the marquee competition, the Hardik Pandya-led side has decided to participate in a team bonding activity to increase camaraderie within the squad. The members have assembled in Alibaug for the activity.

However, in the clip that was shared, it was quickly noticed that former skipper Rohit Sharma was absent. The recent outing of the Mumbai players, where they rode a ferry and even played paintball, did not feature Rohit Sharma.

Hardik Pandya replacing Rohit Sharma as the skipper of MI became the talk of the town as the franchise pulled off an all-cash deal with Gujarat Titans to complete the deal.

“Travel Diaries via jetty & an intense game of paintball. Check out the full version of #MIDaily on our website & MI App now!” Mumbai Indians captioned the post.

Mumbai Indians take on Gujarat Titans in first IPL 2024 game

Speaking of Mumbai's upcoming assignments, the side will begin their IPL 2024 campaign by taking on Gujarat Titans in their first game of the competition. Both sides will face off at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on March 24 in the fifth game of the competition.

Mumbai Indians had a good season in 2023, as the side made it to the knockout stages of the competition. However, they were unable to go all the way and get their hands on their sixth title.

The side finished in fourth place in the standings but missed out on the final after they were eliminated by Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 2. However, as the new season rolls around, MI will aim to do better and potentially go all the way.
