IPL 2024: Shah Rukh Khan gives warm hug to Gautam Gambhir after KKR's massive win versus DC

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) co-owner Shah Rukh Khan was present at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday, April 3 as the Shreyas Iyer-led side defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by a whopping 106 runs.
After the monumental win, King Khan stepped onto the field and gave a warm hug to KKR mentor Gautam Gambhir. The latter is being credited for KKR's solid performance and the return to form of the franchise legends - Andre Russell and Sunil Narine in the early goings of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.
Head coach Chandrakant Pandit's efforts also didn't go unnoticed as Shah Rukh was seen hugging the 62-year-old as well. Former Knight Riders captain Eoin Morgan said on air that the morale in the dressing room should be at an all-time high after the former two-time IPL-winning team won their third consecutive game of the season.

Shah Rukh was seen having a conversation with Rinku Singh, one of his favourite players in the team. Shortly after this, the legendary actor gave a bear hug to captain Shreyas Iyer. Shah Rukh went on to meet the Delhi players as well. He hugged Khaleel Ahmed and lauded him for his performances so far in IPL 2024. The Dunki actor also embraced former KKR spinner Kuldeep Yadav, who missed the game due to a niggle.

KKR go top of the table with thumping win against DC
On a belter of a track in Visakhapatnam, Shreyas won the toss and opted to bat first. Narine hogged the limelight as he smashed 85 off just 39 balls, hitting seven fours and as many sixes. Angkrish Raghuvanshi played a sublime knock of 54 off just 27 balls in his first IPL innings. Russell continued his purple patch with the willow as he smashed 41 off just 19 balls. Rinku and Shreyas played cameos to take KKR to 272/7, the second-highest score in the history of the competition.

In reply, DC found themselves in a dire state as they lost four wickets in the first five overs. Rishabh Pant and Tristan Stubbs hit half-centuries to reduce the margin of defeat as Delhi went down by 106 runs. They were bowled out for 166 in 17.2 overs. This is the first time KKR won their first three matches of the season and have now displaced Rajasthan Royals at the top of the points table.
