The Indian Premier League is well-renowned for producing its share of high-octane and zestful brand of cricket, which is one of the many reasons for its skyrocketing growth to the very pinnacle with respect to any other franchise leagues pertaining to cricket. Not only that, it's also illustrious for re-uniting generations and players across the planet, with a plethora of camaraderie and mutual affinity on display, and it has been going on ever since the IPL was incepted, way back in 2008.
Match 41 of IPL 2024 between the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Delhi Capitals played at the iconic Eden Gardens witnessed just that, with co-owner of the home team, the charismatic icon of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, meeting the legendary former skipper of the Indian team, Sourav Ganguly. The former cricketer, currently the Director of Cricket at DC, has previously played under the ownership of Kolkata franchise, and had represented them in 40 matches since 2008 to 2010, both as a player and captain.

After the match, Ganguly was spotted having a chat with KKR's Venkatesh Iyer, who scored a mature 26* (23) and was involved in an unbeaten 57-run fourth wicket stand with skipper Shreyas Iyer to help his side notch up their sixth victory of the campaign, moving them up to the second position. Meanwhile, SRK was on the outfield with his family members accompanied by a few security staff, and was lapping the ground to applaud the wonderful support from the energetic crowd throughout the match.

Ganguly had his back against the direction SRK was heading from, and the latter sneaked up from behind and embosomed him unknowingly, which grabbed the crowd's attention as they cheered him on. Although Shah Rukh lost his cap in the process of greeting the Indian stalwart, it was quite evident that no love was lost between the honoured duo, which was heartening to catch a glimpse of.
