Franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) improved heavily from the IPL 2023 (Indian Premier League) edition and put in excellent performances in the 17th edition of the tournament. With their new signing Pat Cummins as the skipper, SRH managed to reach the summit clash of the tournament but fell short on the final hurdle.
The side managed to reach the summit clash of the IPL 2024 by finishing in second place in the standings and playing Qualifier 2. However, Kolkata Knight Riders outclassed them once more and clinched their third IPL title. After the heartbreak, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s owner, Kavya Maran, went viral after she was seen congratulating the players on a brilliant season and thanking them for their performances throughout the IPL 2024 campaign.
“You all have made us so proud, I had to come here and tell you that you have redefined the way we play T20 cricket and everyone is talking about us. The off-day had to happen today but really, good job. All of you with the bat and the ball, thank you so much and I think even tough we finished last place in 2023, I think all the fans came out in huge numbers because of the potential that you guys had. Everyone is talking about us, even if KKR won, everyone is still talking about us,” Kavya Maran said in the clip.
