[WATCH] IPL 2025: 'Everything is going according to us' – Axar Patel ecstatic about DC's performance
DC will play their next match against RCB on April 27.
Delhi Capitals' (DC) skipper Axar Patel is happy with the team's performance in the ongoing IPL 2025 (Indian Premier League). They started their tournament with four back-to-back victories. Following that, they lost one game against the Mumbai Indians (MI) and one game against the Gujarat Titans (GT). Apart from that, they have won six out of eight matches.
In most matches, KL Rahul, Abhishek Porel, Axar Patel, and Tristan Stubbs have played some outstanding knocks. If we speak about the bowlers, they have taken wickets in crunch situations, winning matches for the team. The Delhi-based franchise also won a Super Over quite convincingly, thanks to the batters' contribution. However, most of the credit goes to Mitchell Starc for defending nine runs in the last over and giving away just ten runs in the Super Over.
In an interview on Star Sports, Axar opened up about the team combination and how the players have performed well, which is a great thing as a captain. DC require just two more wins to qualify for the playoffs. However, if they want to finish in the top two positions, they'll have to keep winning more matches, as GT are also in great form.
"Abhi tak jis tarah se half-season khatam hua hai tab tak, hum jo chah rahe hain woh ho raha hai aur jo player ka you know confidence bhi hai woh bhi high hai. Har player contribute kar raha hai. Aisa nai hai ki ek ya do players k upar team chal rahi hai. Har match mein koi an koi player step up ho raha hai, woh as a captain bahut badi baat hai (As of now, we are doing well and everything is going well according to us. The players are high on confidence and contributing to the game. Our team is not dependent on just one or two players, but they have all stepped up and performed well. So as a captain, this is a huge thing)," Patel said in the video.

0Axar has led well this season
In the ongoing IPL 2025, so far, Axar Patel has not fared well with his bowling but has done decently with the bat. As a result, despite not making a great impact with the ball, his batting has provided a balance to Delhi.. As a captain, Axar has taken some tough calls that have worked in favour of the team on many occasions. After a fantastic performance this season, DC will be eagerly waiting to qualify for the playoffs this year.
