Axar Patel dismissed Jacob Bethell and Devdutt Padikkal within a span of three deliveries during the ongoing game between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Notably, the match was played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday, April 27.

The third over of the second innings resulted in a couple of runs and as many wickets. Bethell's pull shot did not really possess a lot of power behind it. The ball travelled towards Karun Nair at deep backward square leg. Karun did superbly well to sprint forward and execute a well-judged catch. A half-hearted cut shot led to Padikkal inside-edging a quicker delivery from Axar onto his stumps.

Earlier in the evening, RCB won the toss and opted to field first. DC were off to a positive start with the bat. Abishek Porel (28 off 11) provided a fiery start for the hosts. The Axar-led side got to 52/2 at the end of the powerplay.

Abishek's opening partner, ex-RCB skipper Faf du Plessis, could never really get going, though. Du Plessis' laboured stay in the middle ended when Krunal Pandya and Virat Kohli combined to get rid of the South African top-order batter.

Another ex-RCB player, KL Rahul, could not really come into his groove either. His 39-ball knock could only result in an output of 41 runs. His innings comprised only three fours. Axar had an underwhelming outing with the bat too. The DC skipper could only register 15 off 13 deliveries.

Stubbs' late charge helps DC get past 160

A late surge by Tristan Stubbs took DC to 162/8. As for RCB, Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up a three-wicket haul. Suyash Sharma was the most economical bowler on the visitors' side. Krunal's figures after his four-over spell read 1/28.

Ahead of the game, both sides had won six games apiece. Both DC and RCB were keen to get over the line in a bid to move one step closer to securing a berth in the playoffs. Both sides have looked in fine form this season and would be aiming to get their hands on the trophy for the first time in IPL history.
