IPL 2025: Best Catch of the Match - Chennai Super Kings vs Kolkata Knight Riders, Match 25

The 25th match of the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) is currently underway at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. After KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and elected to field first, CSK's batters struggled against a spin-heavy attack.

With three spinners operating from both ends, the CSK batting lineup appeared clueless. They failed to get the ball off the square, let alone build any momentum. KKR’s bowlers choked the run flow.

In the 18th over, right-arm pacer Vaibhav Arora was brought into the attack. On the second delivery, he bowled a back-of-a-length ball to Noor Ahmad. Noor, attempting a pull shot, was in no position to execute it cleanly. The ball took a top edge and flew towards short fine leg.

Varun Chakravarthy, who was there, reacted swiftly. He dived to his left, stuck out his hands and completed a stunning catch mid-air. It was a remarkable moment, especially considering that Varun, traditionally not known for his fielding skills, has put in the work to improve in that department.

With only 103 on the board, CSK now have their backs against the wall and will look to put up a spirited effort with the ball to slow down the KKR batters. A strong bowling performance is their only hope of defending this below-par total at Chepauk.
