IPL 2025: Best Catch of the Match - Delhi Capitals vs Mumbai Indians, Match 29
DC need to chase 206 runs in their 20 overs
Abhishek Porel took a brilliant catch in the Match 29 between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, dismissing Tilak Varma in the final over of the first innings.
After causing significant damage to the DC bowling attack, Tilak Varma was looking to finish strong by targeting every delivery in the last over for boundaries. On the fourth ball of the over, bowled by Mukesh Kumar, the left-handed batter attempted a slog sweep toward deep midwicket. However, Porel judged the trajectory perfectly, positioned himself under the skier near the boundary rope, and completed a stunning catch just inches inside the rope. This effort brought an end to Varma's fine knock.
Chasing a daunting target, Abhishek Porel opened the innings in place of Faf du Plessis, who missed the match due to injury. Porel, along with impact player Karun Nair, gave a good start to the innings. However, Mumbai Indians leg-spinner Karn Sharma broke the partnership by dismissing Porel, through a brilliant catch by Naman Dhir.

Karn tossed up a delivery on off stump, inviting Porel to go for a slog sweep. Porel leaned into the shot, but the ball came off the toe end of the bat and sailed towards deep square leg. Two fielders converged on the ball, but it was Naman Dhir, sprinting to his right, who kept his eyes on the trajectory, judged the boundary line and the incoming fielder perfectly, and completed a running catch. It was a sharp piece of fielding that sent Porel back after a promising start.
