Shubman Gill's magnificent 90-run knock against his former franchise came to an end courtesy an excellent effort in the field.
An impressive forward-diving catch by Rinku Singh brought about the end of an excellent innings by Shubman Gill during Match 39 of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League between Kolkata Knight Riders and Gujarat Titans at the Eden Gardens. Gill headed back after racking up 90 off 55 deliveries against his former franchise.
The fifth delivery of the 18th over, bowled by Vaibhav Arora, was swatted to the on-side by Gill. The full-toss was sweetly timed by the GT skipper. However, the ball did not find the desired distance or elevation and instead dipped in front of Rinku stationed at cow corner. The Aligarh-born rushed in from the fence to snap up a tough opportunity.

15Interestingly, Gill's wicket was only the second wicket KKR picked up. Earlier in the evening, the ace top-order batter combined with Sai Sudharsan (52 off 36) to forge a 114-run stand for the first wicket. At the end of 20 overs, GT ended up on 198/3.
Wicketkeeper-batter, Jos Buttler, ended up unbeaten on 41 off 23 deliveries. M Shahrukh Khan chipped in with 11 runs off five balls at the end. Promoted up the order, Rahul Tewatia (zero off two) failed to make use of the wonderful platform set by the batters up top.
