The match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Delhi Capitals (DC) featured two brilliant catches by RCB wicket-keeper Jitesh Sharma. Both were skiers which were taken under pressure to first dismiss the DC opener Jake Fraser-McGurk and Abhishek Porel next during a crucial stage of the game.

The RCB batters could not go on to score big in the first innings and it was important for them to start well with the ball. That is exactly what they got, getting three wickets in the powerplay and putting the DC batters under pressure straightaway. Both catches by Jitesh were off the bowling of swing bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar who set up both batters beautifully. Both Porel and Fraser-McGurk were already struggling to get going as well.

The duo were dismissed off a back-of-a-length delivery by Kumar, playing cross-batted shots on a Bengaluru pitch on which the ball did not seem to skid onto the bat at all. The ball was in the air for a long time, and though Jitesh had the gloves on, it still looked like a very difficult chance The 31-year-old keeper seemed to have misjudged both catches in the beginning, but did not seem fazed and ended up taking both catches.

Speaking of the match, RCB suffered a six-wicket loss. Though DC started at a sedate pace they did not get flustered as the asking rate kept on climbing. As they were chasing only 164 they decided to keep wickets in hand and attack later which worked in their favour.
