Delhi Capitals (DC) emerged victorious against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Match 10 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) by seven wickets with 24 deliveries to spare. This was DC's second consecutive win in IPL 2025.
SRH ended up getting bowled out for 163, with 74 of those runs scored by Aniket Verma. After SRH lost Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and Nitish Kumar Reddy cheaply, he partnered with Heinrich Klaasen to build a 77-run stand. Mitchell Starc secured his first five-wicket haul in the IPL, while Kuldeep Yadav claimed three wickets.
Coming to the run chase, Faf du Plessis led the charge inside the powerplay. Jake Fraser-McGurk struggled to execute power shots, scoring at a rate below a run-a-ball. Debutant Zeeshan Ansari struck in the 10th over, dismissing both openers. However, the match was already in DC's control by then. Abishek Porel and Tristan Stubbs finished the game.

1. Aniket Verma powers SRH's innings with maiden IPL half-century
Playing just his third IPL game, Aniket’s knock was exactly what SRH needed after a disastrous powerplay, where they lost four batters. He played particularly well against spinners, using release shots to build momentum in an otherwise lacklustre innings for his team.
2. Starc derails SRH with maiden IPL five-wicket haul
Pacer Mitchell Starc's class was on display during the evening. The wickets he scalped of three big SRH batters set the tone for DC early on in the game. The two dismissals in his final over of the day helped the tall left-arm pacer secure his maiden five-for in the IPL. 12 of Starc's 22 balls were dots.
3. Faf du Plessis' fifty takes game away from SRH
32 of DC's 52 runs inside their powerplay came off vice-captain de Plessis' bat. Despite his opening partner struggling to get going at the other end, the seasoned campaigner took no pressure on himself and ended up stroking his way to a momentum-shifting 27-ball 50.
