Mumbai Indians posted 215 runs on the board in their 20 overs to end the first innings of the match against Lucknow Super Giants at the Wankhede Stadium in the 45th match of the IPL 2025. Ryan Rickelton and Suryakumar Yadav shone with the bat with their quick fifties, while Naman Dhir and the debutant Corbin Bosch's cameos helped MI to post a very good total on the board.

LSG's skipper Rishabh Pant won the toss and opted to bowl first. MI got running quickly, as Rickelton and Rohit Sharma provided a flying start. While Mayank Yadav got rid of Rohit, MI scored 66/1 by the end of the Powerplay overs. Rickelton played a fine knock, as he scored his fifty in just 25 balls, before getting dismissed for 58(32).

Suryakumar Yadav joined the party and played a fine hand. The star batter scored 54(28) and claimed the Orange Cap in the process. While wickets fell in quick succession in between, MI recovered, thanks to a handy partnership between Naman Dhir and the debutant Bosch at the death. While the South African scored 20(10), Dhir scored an unbeaten 25*(11).

For LSG, Mayank Yadav, who played his first match of the season, was the pick of the bowlers. The right-arm pacer returned to claim Hardik Pandya's wicket later in the innings. Avesh Khan claimed a couple of wickets as well. It was a match where all LSG bowlers had economy rates in the range of 10-12.
