IPL 2025: Hardik Pandya's double strike floors Virat Kohli, Liam Livingstone

In the high-octane clash between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru(RCB) at Wankhede Stadium, MI skipper Hardik Pandya sent the in-form Virat Kohli and Liam Livingstone back to the dugout in his single over. 

After winning the toss, Mumbai Indians' skipper Hardik Pandya chose to bowl. In the ongoing Match 20 of the 2025 Indian Premier League, Trent Boult's deliciously inswinging delivery defeated the batsman on the second delivery, forcing Phil Salt to return to the pavilion.

Virat Kohli was at his fluent best in the ongoing clash against Mumbai Indians, anchoring the Royal Challengers Bengaluru innings with a composed yet aggressive 67 off just 42 balls. From the moment he walked in, Kohli timed the ball sweetly, mixing elegant drives with powerful strokes through the leg side. He found boundaries with ease and rotated the strike smartly, ensuring RCB maintained momentum through the middle overs. His knock was a reminder of his class and ability to control the pace of the innings, even as wickets fell around him.

However, Kohli’s innings came to an end just when RCB were looking to accelerate post the strategic timeout. Facing Hardik Pandya, he shuffled a long way outside off in an attempt to go big on the leg side but ended up mistiming it completely. The ball took the top edge and flew to Naman Dhir at deep square, giving Hardik a massive breakthrough.

The over turned into a game-changer when Pandya followed it up with the wicket of Liam Livingstone just two balls later, the Englishman attempting a scoop shot, only to get hurried by pace and lob a simple catch to Jasprit Bumrah at short third. With two key wickets in a single over, Pandya swung the momentum firmly in Mumbai’s favour.
