Match 13 of the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League between Lucknow Super Giants and Punjab Kings saw PBKS emerge victorious by eight wickets at the Ekana International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday, April 1.

PBKS were off to a fine start in the powerplay as Arshdeep Singh dismissed Mitchell Marsh for a golden duck on the fourth delivery. Then, a dangerous-looking Aiden Markram inside-edged a Lockie Ferguson delivery onto his stumps. The third wicket to fall in the phase was that of skipper Rishabh Pant.

Pooran was all set to register his 12th IPL half-century. However, Yuzvendra Chahal got the better of the southpaw on the third delivery of the 12th over. Further, David Miller could not get going, as he was dismissed for an 18-ball 19. Some lusty blows at the end from Abdul Samad (27 off 12) and Ayush Badoni  (41 off 33) took LSG to 171/7. Arshdeep, although expensive, ended up with a three-wicket haul to his name.

Coming to the run-chase, it was a special effort from Prabhsimran Singh. The top-order batter's dynamic batting up to ensured PBKS got to 62 in the powerplay. Digvesh Rathi snapped up Priyansh Arya for a cheap score in the third over. Prabhsimran was dismissed in the 11th over for a 34-ball 69.

However, Shreyas Iyer (52* off 30) was already set in the middle by then. He was accompanied by Nehal Wadhera (43* off 25), who came in as an Impact Player in the place of Chahal. The two did not stop their carnage against the home team. PBKS' skipper completed his half-century with a maximum off Samad.

Key Moments from LSG vs PBKS, Match 13 of IPL 2025

1. Rishabh Pant departs for third cheap score

The fifth delivery of the fifth over saw Pant departing off a rather innocuous delivery by Glenn Maxwell. It was a half-tracker outside leg stump which was guided straight to short fine leg to Yuzvendra Chahal. Interestingly, this was the third time Pant was dismissed for a low score this season.

3. Sensational effort at boundary sends Prabhsimran Singh packing

It took a superlative bit of presence of mind at the deep midwicket fence to get rid of Prabhsimran. A combined effort from Badoni and Bishnoi brought about the end of Prabhsimran. Before losing balance, Badoni popped it to Bishnoi who was standing a few metres away from him. Bishnoi, following the trajectory of the ball all the way from deep square leg, dived and accepted the catch.
