Gujarat Titans (GT) extended their winning streak in the ongoing IPL 2025, registering a comfortable 58-run victory over Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Match 23 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on April 9. They recorded their fourth consecutive win and pushed up to the top of the points table.
Asked to bat first, Gujarat Titans reached 217/6 in their allotted 20 overs, mainly because of the in-form Sai Sudharsan, who once again anchored the innings with an 82 off 53 balls. Despite losing captain Shubman Gill early to Jofra Archer, Sudharsan found solid support in Jos Buttler (36 off 25) and M Shahrukh Khan (36 off 20), both of whom kept the scoring rate ticking through the middle overs.
The 2022 champions’ innings received further push in the final overs thanks to Rahul Tewatia (24* off 12) and Rashid Khan (12 off 4), who ensured the side crossed the 200-run mark comfortably. Rajasthan’s bowlers struggled to contain runs despite getting wickets. Maheesh Theekshana and Tushar Deshpande leaked over 50 runs each despite picking up two wickets apiece. Archer bowled an economical spell of 1/30 from four overs.
In reply, the Royals had a poor start to their chase as Yashasvi Jaiswal and Nitish Rana departed inside the first three overs. A 56-run partnership between Sanju Samson (41 off 28) and Shimron Hetmyer (52 off 32) provided some hope, but regular wickets at the crucial time put the side behind.

Prasidh Krishna was the pick of the bowlers, finishing with figures of 3/24. His crucial wickets, including those of Samson and Hetmyer, broke the backbone of RR’s chase. Rashid Khan (2/37) and Sai Kishore (2/11) chipped in with a few wickets as well. The Royals were eventually bowled out for 159 in 19.2 overs.
