Chennai Super Kings finally broke their long losing streak by beating Lucknow Super Giants in their backyard in the 30th match of the IPL 2025. A collective team effort helped CSK chase 167 against the home side. It was CSK's first win after suffering five consecutive losses. Ravindra Jadeja, Rachin Ravindra, Noor Ahmad, Shaikh Rasheed, and MS Dhoni were key for CSK's win.

Dhoni won the toss and invited LSG to bat first due to the dew factor. His decision was right, as LSG managed to post just 166 runs on the board. Rishabh Pant was the pick of the batters, who scored his first fifty of the season. Abdul Samad's 20(11) helped LSG to cross the 160-run mark, which was just around par.

Dhoni's captaincy was apt, which helped CSK restrict LSG to 166 runs. Noor Ahmad starred with the ball with his spell of 0/13 in his four overs. Ravindra Jadeja picked 2/24 in his three overs.

CSK had a new opening pair in Rasheed and Rachin Ravindra, which helped them get a good start. While Rasheed perished after 27(19), Rachin scored 37(22). Rahul Tripathi, Vijay Shankar, and Ravindra Jadeja struggled in the middle. As Shivam Dube struggled from his end, Dhoni made his job easier with a fantastic 26*(11). Despite Ravi Bishnoi and other spinners bowling well, CSK chased the total with three balls to spare.
