Gujarat Titans defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets,

Franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) nightmare run in the IPL 2025 continued on Sunday (April 6), as they suffered their fourth consecutive defeat, this time at the hands of Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, in Hyderabad. The Orange Army now languishes at the bottom of the table with two points and a negative NRR of 1.629.
Asked to bat first, SRH failed early and never quite recovered. Mohammed Siraj ran through the top order with a spell of 4 for 17, removing both openers, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, inside the powerplay. SRH then went 36 balls without hitting a boundary and only managed to clear the ropes for the first time in the 13th over. Nitish Kumar Reddy (31) and Heinrich Klaasen (27) tried to rebuild the innings with a brief stand, but Hyderabad’s middle order collapse continued to put them behind. A late cameo from Pat Cummins (22* off 9) helped SRH post 152/8.
In reply, the Gujarat Titans had something to worry about early. Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler were both dismissed inside the powerplay, with the latter falling for a duck with Cummins and Mohammed Shami picking wickets in quick succession. But just when SRH looked to capitalize, Washington Sundar stepped up with a 49 off just 29 balls.
Sundar made his highest score in IPL history and took the pressure off captain Shubman Gill, who anchored the chase with an unbeaten 61 off 43 balls. The pair’s 90-run stand for the third wicket effectively put the game in GT's favour. Sherfane Rutherford's quick unbeaten, helped GT cruise home with 20 balls to spare. With this win, the Gujarat Titans have now registered their third victory in a row. Siraj won the Player of the Match award for his bowling heroics.
