Mumbai Indians won Match 45 of the IPL 2025 against Lucknow Super Giants by 54 runs at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday, April 27.
Rohit Sharma (12 off 5) was dismissed quite early in the innings, but Digvesh Rathi's 19-run over helped the hosts get to 66/1 at the end of the powerplay. Ryan Rickelton’s half-century (58 off 32) provided a substantial platform for MI. Tilak Varma (6 off 5) and Hardik Pandya (5 off 7) fell cheaply. Suryakumar Yadav’s 54 off 28 was crucial for MI who reached 215 for the loss of seven wickets at the end. Contributions from Naman Dhir (25* off 11) and Corbin Bosch (20 off 10) were quite vital as well.
In reply, Jasprit Bumrah struck early to dismiss in-form Aiden Markram for nine off 11. Nicholas Pooran looked in fine nick, smashing three maximums off Deepak Chahar's bowling. However, LSG were rocked by Will Jacks in his first over. The batting all-rounder dismissed Pooran (27 off 15) and Rishabh Pant (four off two). LSG got to 103/3 at the end of 20 overs. Bumrah’s triple-wicket over dented LSG irreversibly, The fast-bowling spearhead finished with figures of 4/22. LSG were bowled out for 161 on the final ball of the innings.
