IPL 2025: Pant's redemption! Bold DRS call sends De Kock packing in KKR vs LSG clash
After burning a review, Rishabh Pant overturns a wrong call with a gutsy DRS decision to dismiss Quinton de Kock.

Rishabh Pant wasted a review but redeemed himself with the very next delivery in the high-voltage IPL 2025 clash between the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), at Eden Gardens, on Tuesday, April 8.
The home side got off to a flying start in their pursuit of a daunting 239-run target at the iconic venue. The first 2.1 overs yielded 37 runs as Quinton de Kock and Sunil Narine took LSG's new-ball pair of Akash Deep and Shardul Thakur to the cleaners. After conceding a six off the first ball of his second over, Akash came back with a peach of a delivery that swung past the outside edge of de Kock's blade.
The Bengal seamer did not hear anything as he turned around and started walking back to his mark. Pant, however, was looking for some support from his teammates. His reactions suggested that he had heard something, but he wasn't completely confident. With around five seconds left on the DRS timer and none of his teammates being sure, the LSG skipper decided to challenge the on-field call. However, UltraEdge returned without any spike as the visitors burned a review.
De Kock went for a big heave through the leg side off Akash's next delivery, but he connected with thin air. The LSG players went up in a confident appeal, but umpire Adrian Holdstock turned them down. From his reaction, it seemed that he felt the impact was on the higher side. Pant once again went for a review, and this time, it proved to be fruitful. DRS returned with three reds as LSG got their first breakthrough.

Digvesh Rathi gets rid of Sunil Narine
Digvesh Rathi, who has been one of the finds of IPL 2025, got the better of Sunil Narine in the seventh over. The Caribbean all-rounder went for a six over the long-off fielder. However, he could not generate enough power, as Aiden Markram took a good catch, sliding to his right at long-off.
KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane has got off to a flying start, and he will have to hold the innings together and set the platform for the big hitters like Andre Russell, Rinku Singh, and Ramandeep Singh.
