IPL 2025: Punjab Kings take dig at Rishabh Pant over auction 'tension' comment after LSG's loss
Pant was dismissed for 2 off 5 against PBKS.
An old interview of Rishabh Pant has been doing the rounds after the wicketkeeper-batter fell for another cheap score while representing Lucknow Super Giants against Punjab Kings in Match 13 of the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League. LSG's skipper departed for 2 (5) during the recently-concluded clash at the Ekana International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday, April 1.
Pant's underwhelming form continued against the Punjab-based franchise, as he was dismissed for 2 (5) inside the powerplay of the IPL 2025 clash. With this dismissal, Pant's lean run with the bat during the ongoing season extended. He was dismissed for a six-ball duck in LSG's tournament opener and then followed it up with a run-a-ball 15-run score against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Meanwhile, the resurfaced video had Pant's remarks from the time of the mega auction from November last year, when he had candidly shared that he was apprehensive of PBKS acquiring him. It then followed a compilation of him getting dismissed in the marquee T20 league against the same opposition over the years. After the game, the franchise did not miss the chance to take a sly dig at the LSG skipper.

Pant has had quite an underwhelming string of performances against PBKS all throughout his IPL tenure. In 14 innings against PBKS, the 27-year-old has scored only 200 runs at a miserly strike rate of 119.04. His highest score in the IPL against the Punjab-based franchise is only 39. Notaby, he became the most expensive player of the IPL after being secured at a price of INR 27 crore.
