Sanjay Manjrekar took to X and came up with a list of his best batters in the IPL 2025 so far. The popular analyst considered the batters with over 200 runs, arranged them in descending order of strike rates, and claimed them to be the only batters that mattered.

The list saw the snub of quality batters like Virat Kohli, Sai Sudharsan, and others. He then took the names of the batters like Nicholas Pooran, Priyansh Arya, Shreyas Iyer, Jos Buttler, and others, who scored a lot of runs at a very high strike rate in the 18th edition of the league.

"When it comes to batting, the only list that matters. Big runs with great SR so far," Manjrekar wrote on his 'X' handle.

Sanjay Manjrekar pointed out that Pooran scored 377 runs at an astonishing SR of over 205, while young batter Priyansh scored 254 runs at a strike rate of over 202. He took the names of Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav, who scored 263 and 373 runs at a strike rate of over 185 and 167, respectively.

Why did Sanjay Manjrekar snub Kohli, Sudharsan, and Jaiswal?

Overseas batters like Jos Buttler and Mitchell Marsh made it to Sanjay's list, who scored 356 and 344 runs at a strike rate of 166 and 161, respectively. He further included SRH's Travis Head and Heinrich Klaasen, who scored 261 and 288 runs at a strike rate of 159 and 157, respectively.

Indian batters like KL Rahul and Shubman Gill claimed a spot in the list by scoring 305 and 323 runs at a strike rate of 153 and 154, respectively. The lowest strike rate in the list was that of Gill, who struck over 153. Batters with lower strike rates could not make it to the list.

Major batters who were snubbed from the list were Virat Kohli, Sai Sudharsan, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Aiden Markram, all of whom were in the list of the top 10 highest run-scorers. Since their strike rates were lower than the ones in the list, they could not make it to the list.
