Lucknow Super Giants emerged victors over Sunrisers Hyderabad in Match 7 of the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League on Thursday, March 27.
Travis Head fell three runs short of his half-century after playing a brisk knock while Nitish Kumar Reddy could never get going coming into bat after the quick wickets of Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan. Heinrich Klaasen could not contribute much too, falling to a bizarre run out.
Aniket Verma came in and plundered five maximums in his 13-ball stay, but could not make more out of a promising stay at the crease. A late surge from Pat Cummins meant SRH ended up with 190 on the board. Shardul Thakur was the standout bowler. He ended up with figures of 4/34.
Aiden Markram was dismissed early in the chase. However, Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran motored the innings at a great rate with respective half-centuries to tilt the balance in the tourists' favour. Skipper, Rishabh Pant, could not really make it count for the second game in a row.
Abdul Samad and David Miller were the unbeaten batters on the crease to guide their side over the finish line. The experiment of bringing in Adam Zampa as an Impact Player did not work one for the hosts. The leg-spinner ended up proving quite expensive, conceding 46 in four overs.

Key Moments from Match 7 of IPL 2025
1. Shardul rocks SRH by dismissing Abhishek, Kishan off successive balls
The first two deliveries of Shardul's second over saw the back of Abhishek and then Kishan. Both the dismissals were caught - Abhishek at deep square leg and Kishan by the wicketkeeper. The two blows ultimately turned out to be significant events as far as the grand scheme of things are concerned.

2. Marsh delivers big after being brought on as Impact Player
Marsh was one of the five players listed on the bench. Chasing 191, he came out to open the innings. Despite Markram being dismissed early, the Australian all-rounder did not stop his onslaught. He brought up his second consecutive fifty this season with yet another aggressive knock.

3. Pooran’s turbo-charged knock blows SRH away
Striking at a colossal 269.23, Pooran's power-packed show proved to be just what LSG required. Coming in to bat after the dismissal of Markram, the West Indian southpaw left no stone unturned while blasting his way through the bowling attack of the Orange Army.
