The Indian Premier League (IPL) is always looking to enhance the viewing experience for its fans around the globe. With this mindset, the cash-rich league has introduced a new tool which can revolutionise how the game is viewed.
Amid the exhilarating action in IPL 2025, the official social media accounts of the league decided to give fans a glimpse into the future. They uploaded a video where a robot dog could be seen greeting the players during practice sessions. The likes of Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, and Reece Topley met the four-legged machine and were quite impressed after witnessing some of its features.
Upon seeing it for the first time, a surprised Delhi Capitals' captain Axar asked, "Kya hai yeh?" (What is this?) Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians' pacer Reece Topley asked "What type of dog it is?". Hardik interacted with the machine as well and even called it a "good boy" after it obeyed his commands.
Veteran commentator Danny Morrison explored some of the features of the machine. The device also greeted some of the players by its robotic paws. With high-resolution cameras attached to it, Morrison believes that it will bring a whole new dimension and dynamic to the broadcast. He also spoke about how much he adores the "love pose" which had the other cricketers drooling as well.
Morrison requested the fans to suggest names for the unique device. The former New Zealand pacer said that lucky fans will get to be a part of a special naming ceremony. He even had a foot race with it before acknowledging that it was too fast for him.
