IPL is the biggest platform for match-fixing: Former PAK cricketer Tanvir Ahmed

The match fixing allegations in IPL have started to take a centre stage after Rajasthan Royals' narrow 2-run loss against the Lucknow Super Giants in recent encounters. This has led to some fans and experts giving their opinion on the franchise competition and the stories behind it.

One of the experts who has shared his views on these allegations is former Pakistan pacer Tanvir Ahmed, who has had problems in the past with the board whom he has criticised a lot even during the Champions Trophy venue debate. Tanvir has openly claimed the fact that IPL being the biggest leagues in the world can't be denied, however, the same league is also among the biggest platform for match-fixers. Tanvir wrote the same via a social media post.

“The BCCI proudly claims IPL is the biggest cricket league in the world. Yes, it is — but it’s also the biggest platform for fixing. Most teams are in the hands of fixers,” Tanvir said on 'X' (formerly known as Twitter).

Notably, the Ad Hoc Convenor of Rajasthan Cricket Association had put serious match-fixing allegations on the BCCI, the franchise, the state sports council after the match between RR and LSG at Jaipur's Sawai Mansingh Stadium. However, the allegations were quashed down by the franchise and said nothing of such sort has been happening within the team or the league at large.
