October 23 marked a historic evening for Afghanistan, securing their inaugural victory over Pakistan in men's ODIs. This win, their second in the 2023 World Cup, added an extra layer of delight. The elated Afghan squad paraded with their nation's flags draped over their shoulders. Irfan expressed his gratitude on his 'X' account to acknowledge an Afghan supporter's artwork that beautifully encapsulated this memorable moment. He captioned, “This is so beautifully made by an Afghan fan.”

Afghanistan secured a stunning eight-wicket victory over Pakistan in the 22nd match. Pakistan, opting to bat, managed 282/7, with captain Babar Azam scoring 74 (92 balls) and Abdullah Shafique contributing 58 (75 balls). However, Afghanistan chased the target efficiently, with openers Ibrahim Zadran (87 off 113) and Rahmanullah Gurbaz (65 off 53) forming a 130-run partnership in 21.1 overs.

Irfan Pathan fulfills the promise he made to Rashid Khan

The former Indian pace sensation disclosed that the viral dance he shared with Rashid following Afghanistan's historic 2023 World Cup win against Pakistan was a commitment he honored. Irfan revealed that the Afghan leg spinner had foreseen Afghanistan's victory, prompting the former all-rounder to pledge a dance in response to this prediction.

During Afghanistan's jubilant celebration of their remarkable victory, the former southpaw, a member of the World Cup commentary team, joined the 25-year-old in a lively dance that quickly gained widespread attention. They also exchanged a heartfelt embrace. When posting the video on his social media platform, Pathan elaborated on the motivation behind his dance with the renowned Afghan cricketer. 

“He fulfilled his promise… And I fullfilled mine. @rashid.khan19 told me they will win again and I told him I will dance again. #afghanistan @icc,” Irfan wrote on his ‘X’ account.
