Ishan Kishan visits Sai Baba temple on his 26th birthday
Kishan celebrated his 26th birthday by visiting a temple.
Star India wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan recently celebrated his 26th birthday in a very spiritual way as he visited the Shree Samadhi Mandir in Shirdi, Maharashtra. Seeking blessing from Sai Baba, Kishan shared pictures of the same on his social media.
It has been a roller coaster year for Ishan Kishan. Despite his sporadic spot in the Indian team, Kishan still boasts of being one of the best batters in T20I cricket; he holds the record for the fastest double ton in ODIs and has played many memorable knocks in the India jersey.
However, recently Kishan was excluded from the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) central contracts alongside Shreyas Iyer as he skipped Ranji Trophy matches, despite not being selected for India, and his ignorance towards first-class cricket saw him get reprimanded. He also asked the BCCI for a break as he was suffering from mental fatigue and he is yet to make an appearance since then.
The 26-year-old’s last appearance for India came in the five-game T20I series against Australia in November where he had scored a fifty. Furthermore, Kishan decided not to play for Jharkhand in the Ranji Trophy, which saw Rahul Dravid make it clear that he had to play domestic cricket to play for India.
His IPL season took a hit as well, scoring 320 runs in 14 matches at an average of 22.86 and a strike rate of 148.84. Ishan Kishan will be hoping for redemption whenever he gets to play for India and also Mumbai Indians.
Many former and current stars took to various social media platforms to wish Kishan a happy birthday as well. The likes of Yuvraj Singh, and many others celebrated his special day as the southpaw turned 26. Recently, the wicketkeeper batter was captured attending the wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, with several pictures of him going viral all over social media.
