Star India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was full of praise for Virat Kohli's reflex catch off his bowling. Kohli took a brilliant catch at second slip during the first ODI against West Indies on Thursday, July 27 at Kensington Oval in Barbados. Rohit Sharma and Co. put on a strong performance to win by five wickets and take a 1-0 lead in the three-game series.

After deciding to bowl first, India dominated the game from the start. All-rounder Hardik Pandya dismissed opener Kyle Mayers, while Jadeja's catch helped Mukesh Kumar get his maiden wicket in the 50-over format. In the eighth over, the spin-bowling all-rounder grabbed an outstanding catch at backward point to eliminate Alick Athanaze.

Jadeja, who came into the attack in the 12th over, where he gave up nine runs. However, the left-arm spinner then dismissed Shimron Hetmyer for just 11 runs in his following over. He struck twice in the 18th over, dismissing Rovman Powell and Romario Shepherd, the second of which involved a stunning catch by Virat Kohli.

During an interaction with Kuldeep Yadav, the video of which was released by the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India), Jadeja stated that he used to take fantastic catches off other people's bowling and that it was amazing to witness someone else taking a great catch off his bowling. The 34-year-old praised the former India captain's take, terming it a ‘great catch.’.

"Every time I take good catches off other people's bowling, it was great to see someone take a great catch off my bowling for once. It was a great catch by Virat, it kept low and he had to be sharp. He barely had any time to react, so it was a good take. If the bowler has the fielder's support on these types of pitches, then their confidence is really boosted," Jadeja said.

Jadeja finished with figures of 3/37 in six overs as India bundled out West Indies for a paltry score of 114. Veteran spinner Kuldeep Yadav was instrumental for India, finishing with outstanding figures of 4/6. India experienced a few difficulties with their revised batting order, but they cruised to victory with five wickets in hand, thanks to Ishan Kishan's half-century. India's records and achievements cap saw another feather being added as the Men in Blue clinched their ninth consecutive win against West Indies in ODIs.
