Thunderous fast bowler Mayank Yadav has been making headlines in the last few days thanks to his raw pace, consistently clocking speeds over 150. He has emerged as the standout bowler in the ongoing IPL 2024 and has received consecutive Player of the Match awards in two games, first against Punjab Kings and then against RCB in the last game, where he single-handedly turned the tables in favor of LSG.
Following his recent heroics, former England skipper Michael Vaughan shared his thoughts, suggesting that it would benefit Mayank Yadav and Indian cricket if the youngster is allowed to play for a county this summer.
"It would serve Mayank Yadav & Indian cricket well if they allowed him to play for a county this summer .. 👍," Vaughan wrote on 'X"
Former Indian cricketer WV Raman also echoed similar sentiments, proposing a short-term plan for Yadav: rest post-IPL, followed by possibly playing a few county matches in England in the red-ball format, then returning to India to train and participate in a few red-ball cricket matches before unleashing him in the test series in Australia."

It remains to be seen whether the BCCI will permit him to participate in the upcoming county season in England. Additionally, the fans will be curious to see if he will be included in the Indian team for the forthcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

After the match, Mayank expressed delight at winning back-to-back Player of the Match awards in two matches. He aspires to represent the country and stated these achievements as just the beginning. The pacer highlighted the satisfaction of dismissing Cameron Green and underscored the significance of various factors in bowling quickly, including diet, sleep, and training.

"Feel really good, two Player of the Match awards in two matches. I am happier that we won both the matches. My goal is to play for the country. I feel this is just the start. I enjoyed Cameron Green's wicket the most. There are a lot of factors to bowl quick - diet, sleep, training. I am focusing a lot on my diet and recovery - ice bath.," Mayank said after the match.
