Indian left-arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat made his much-awaited return to Test cricket in the recently concluded Bangladesh Test series after a hiatus that lasted a mind-boggling 12 years. Following India's clean sweep in the two-match series, the veteran pacer compiled an emotional post on Twitter, sharing the pics of his India jersey from his debut match and his latest match, signed with the autographs of his teammates.

Jaydev Unadkat was named in the Indian squad as an injury replacement. However, he was afforded a place in the starting eleven, ending his wait of 12 years for a Test match. His last red-ball game for the national team was his debut match against the Proteas, back in 2010.

Although the left-arm-pacer did not make the most decorated of comebacks, he managed to grab his maiden Test wicket during the first innings of the second match. The 31-year-old shared a picture of his two jerseys, one of his debut and one of his latest game, showcasing the journey he endured between the two outings.

"To the journey of all those years in between," his caption read.

To the journey of all those years in between.. 🥂

Unadkat made his debut for the Indian side in 2010, sharing the dressing room with the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, Virender Sehwag, VVS Laxman, and current Indian head coach Rahul Dravid. Veteran Indian pacer Umesh Yadav and middle-order bulwark Cheteshwar Pujara are the only two players to feature in both of Unadkat's Test appearances for India so far.

The 31-year-old found a new home in Lucknow Super Giants after the franchise bagged him for his base price in the recently conducted IPL 2023 auction in Kochi. This was the 11th time that the Indian pacer was signed in the auction. His return to the Indian side came on the back of a couple of prolific seasons in the domestic circuit.
