The top cricket governing body of the country, BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India), was taken to the cleaners by the cricket fans after the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur, could not facilitate a proper drainage system. This resulted in a loss of almost three days of the Test match between India and Bangladesh.
Besides, in another instance, the Indian board played a facilitator to Afghanistan as they hosted New Zealand for a one-off Test at the Greater Noida Sports Complex in Noida, as the lack of a drainage system didn't allow the toss to take place. But the SNR College Ground 1 in Tamil Nadu has painted a different picture altogether with rains marring the Ranji Trophy fixture held at the ground between Saurashtra and Tamil Nadu. Heavy rains made a lake out of the ground at the end of Day 3 on October 13.
But the management pulled a rabbit out of the hat as the turf was play-ready within 14 hours amidst incessant rains. The development was made the Saurashtra skipper, Jaydev Unadkat, quite ecstatic. Hence, he decided to share the good work with his fans and cricket fraternity through social media.

“From the 1st slide to the 2nd..in a matter of 12 hours, Tamil Nadu has the best infrastructure for all levels of cricket and that’s probably the reason why they are home to a beautiful legacy of champion cricketers, past & present both!” Unadkat tweeted on his 'X' handle.
“Although we finished on the losing side in this game, I was pleasantly amazed at how quickly the groundsmen were able to turn things around after heavy rains on 3rd day evening and the match started at dot 9.30 am on 4th day morning! After all, it does take more than just good players to be a champion team! I hope every association would take an example from this. Well done TNCA,” he added.
