Jofra Archer's "behave" tweet resurfaces following Sanjay Manjrekar's cautionary message at the Wankhede

After all the backlash copped by Hardik Pandya during a couple of away matches the Mumbai Indians have played so far with the bulk of the public peeved at him for being handed the captaincy from Rohit Sharma in rather unceremonious circumstances, it was but expected that the furore would be much more amplified at MI's own den, the Wankhede Stadium, or rather, Rohit Sharma's stronghold, the Wankhede Stadium.

Ever since MI kicked off their campaign, Hardik has been the subject of copious bouts of trolling - be it in-person or on social media. With the security being even more tightened with there being a strict regulation of not allowing any pro-Rohit Sharma banners inside the stadium for MI's first home match of the season, it didn't come as a surprise with there being a constant echo of boos reverberating throughout the stadium.

However, things spiralled out of control when the anchor for the toss, Sanjay Manjrekar, asked the hostile Wankhede crowd to "behave" after they started chanting local boy Rohit's name, jeering Hardik concurrently.

Just after the match, social media platforms like X were particularly filled with memes regarding the same, with the word "behave" attaining ubiquitous traction in no time. In the same vein, the internet dug out ex-MI and current English speedster's tweet from May 23, 2014, which contained the exact same word uttered by Manjrekar during match 14 of IPL 2024, MI's first home game of the 2024 edition. However, the context of the tweet remains a mystery to all, with the coincidence stirring up widespread mirth and discourse on digital platforms.

MI to play three home games on the bounce

After a third-straight loss at the hands of the high-flying Rajasthan Royals, the Mumbai Indians are set to play three successive games at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, with an afternoon fixture against the Delhi Capitals to start off the chaotic roster, followed by games against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru and the Chennai Super Kings, all in a space of a week's period.
