The recently released Bollywood movie ‘Adipurush’ directed by Om Raut is making headlines for all the wrong reasons as several scenes and dialogues haven’t gone down well with the fans. There’s a widespread uproar to ban the film as people are unhappy with the makers for distorting facts of the Hindu epic ‘Ramayana’ for the sake of creative liberty.

Jumping onto the bandwagon, former India cricketer Sehwag has also criticized the movie in his own hilarious manner. Virender Sehwag drew a comparison of the film with the mega-blockbuster ‘Bahubali’ released in 2015 and revealed the reason why did Katappa actually kill Bahubali.

Taking to Twitter, Sehwag wrote, "Adipurush dekhkar pata chala Kattappa ne Bahubali ko kyun maara tha. (After seeing Adipurush, I realised why Katapa killed Baahubali)."

Notably, both Baahubali and Adipurush stars actor Prabhas in the lead role. Baahubali ended with a cliffhanger where the character Katappa reveals that he killed Baahubali without telling the reason. Hence, Sehwag stated that Katappa must’ve known that Baahubali i.e. Prabhas will go on to star in Adipurush and hence ended up killing him.

Sehwag denies being approached by BCCI for the role of Chief Selector

Meanwhile, Sehwag was in the headlines recently as there were reports of him being approached by BCCI for the role of Chief Selector, however, the cricketer denied being approached. The former India opener meets the eligibility criteria for the role, which is that the candidate must have played at least seven Tests or 10 ODIs, or at least 30 first-class matches.

Furthermore, he must have retired from the sport at least five years ago, and must not already have served for five years as a member in any of BCCI's cricket committees.

The 44-year-old is counted among the best openers to ever play for India as he has a successful career across all three formats. The 44-year-old played 104 Tests, 251 ODIs and 19 T20Is during his international stint. He has over 8000 runs to his name in both Tests and ODIs.

The Delhi-born cricketer further won the T20I World Cup and ODI World Cup as a player in 2007 and 2011 respectively.
