Kevin Pietersen bids adieu to commentary duties for remainder of India-England Test series
"I look forward to coming back in a month or so for the IPL," said Pietersen.
Former England legend and renowned commentator Kevin Pietersen has been entertaining cricket fans and experts alike with some insightful commentary during the ongoing series Test series between India and England. One of the key moments of his commentary brilliance has been the prediction of a batter about to get out especially calling the remarkable prediction of Joe Root's dismissal. Not only that, he got into an intriguing verbal duel with fellow commentator Harsha Bhogle on the heated discussion of the switch-hit mode of batting.
However, after having completed two Tests of the riveting series, the former 'switch hit' inventor has decided to bid adieu to the commentary panel for the remainder of the Test series. Notably, Kevin Pietersen posted an image of himself on his social media account to inform his fans about the latest developments regarding him. Moreover, he also added that even though he will be departing from India, the legendary former batter will come back to India once again for the coveted Indian Premier League (IPL).
Meanwhile, he also thanked everyone for the generous and benevolent hospitality bestowed upon him during the India tour. Furthermore, he also reflected on how the series has panned out so far for both India and England. Additionally, he also shared his thoughts on the pitch conundrum which always becomes a much-heated debate for a touring side along with its former cricketers. Notably, the last touring side was Australia whose former experts were having a war of words demanding ICC to punish Indian cricket for preparing excessive rank turners.
"Great fun covering the 1st two Tests here in India. The series level and set up beautifully now. India probably with the upper hand but also know that England will not go down without a fight. Thank you to both teams for showing Test cricket off so well!" Pietersen mentioned this on his Instagram handle.
"I thought the surface in Vizag was fantastic. Please keep bounce in the wicket for the remaining Tests! It helps the spectacle. Leaving India now and as always a massive thank you for hospitality that’s goes beyond normal hospitality. I look forward to coming back in a month or so for the IPL. Lots of love, Cabin!" he further added.
Kevin Pietersen shares Ashes example, believes Bazball lives rent free
Besides, Kevin Pietersen also shared his thoughts on how England's 'Bazball' approach has kept the captains and teams guessing in both the past and in the ongoing India-England Test series. Even though the Ben Stokes-led side lost the Vizag Test and has been facing criticism from former English players for not applying themselves as per the match situation which could have yielded them another memorable win in India. Instead the pressure of 'playing in a certain fashion' got England rattled despite showing some fight in the second innings of the Vizag Test.
Reflecting on the same, Kevin Pietersen had different thoughts. Recently, he even said that the uber-aggressive approach has led to 'Bazball' living rent-free in the opposition's camp. He even gave the prime example of last year's Ashes game where Australia surprisingly kept a fielding at deep point instead of the usual position courtesy of an impact of England's brand of cricket.
