England are currently involved in a five-match T20I series against India in India. The Jos Buttler-led 20-over side has Harry Brook as the deputy skipper. As of Sunday, January 26, England are currently trailing in the series after losing the first couple of games by seven and two wickets, respectively.
Former English cricketer, Kevin Pietersen, recently responded to a query posted by CricTracker which was in relation to netizens' favourite cricketer at the moment. Pietersen, a well-known personality both on and off the field for his cricketing prowess and witty humour, commented that Brook was his favourite cricketer. Pietersen's post, however, had a light-hearted tinge of playfulness to it, which has been doing the rounds on social media.

For the unversed, the explosive batter had recently come out with a statement that it was the smog in the first T20I in Kolkata which hindered the English batters while batting against spin. Brook's remarks did not quite sit well with the Indian cricket fraternity, for they thought that he was trying to cover up his and the team's shortcomings against the Indian spinners.
On both instances on this tour to India as of now, Varun Chakravarthy's mystery spinning deliveries ripped through Brook's defence. After Brook got castled by a ripper from Chakravarthy at the MA Chidambaram Stadium yesterday, a lot of Indian cricket fans came forward and joked around Brook's comments post the series opener. Among these were former Indian cricketing legends, Ravi Shastri and Sunil Gavaskar, as well.

England have it all to do as India take 2-0 lead
Ahead of the series, not a lot of people expected England to succumb to India in the manner they did in both the games up until now. While their performance in yesterday's hard-fought contest was a much more spirited one, they have a mountain to climb to salvage anything from this series.
The next three T20Is will be played in Rajkot, Pune, and Mumbai, respectively. The format then shifts to ODIs as both the sides will fight it out in a three-match series, before heading over to Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates for the upcoming edition of the Champions Trophy.
