KL Rahul asks fans to not touch his feet while clicking selfie, video goes viral
KL Rahul hasn't been picked for the T20I series against Afghanistan.
Star India wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul has been enjoying his time off the field as he didn’t get selected in the squad for the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan beginning from January 11 at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali. Recently, Rahul was spotted at a restaurant where he was approached by some of his fans for a selfie who even bowed down to touch his feet.
In the viral video, the cricketer can be seen gesturing to his fans to refrain from such acts as he poses for a selfie.

KL Rahul was a part of India’s squad for the two-match Test series against South Africa where he scored his second consecutive hundred in Centurion during the first Test. The 31-year-old played a magnificent knock of 101 (137) in tough conditions helping India score 245 in the first innings.
The Bangalore-born batter has not played any T20I since India’s exit from the T20 World Cup 2022 after a crushing ten-wicket loss against England. Rahul didn’t have a memorable tournament with the bat scoring 128 runs from six innings at an average of 21.33 and a below-par strike rate of 120.75.

However, he still has a stellar record in the shortest format of international cricket with 2265 runs to his name from 68 innings at an average of 37.75 and a strike rate of 139.12 with two hundreds and 22 fifties. In his absence, Sanju Samson and Jitesh Sharma have been entrusted with the wicketkeeping duties in the upcoming series against Afghanistan which will be India’s last T20I assignment before the T20 World Cup 2024.

Notably, India will take on Afghanistan in three T20Is beginning from Thursday, January 11 at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali while the second game will be played on January 14 in Indore and January 17 in Bengaluru.
Captain Rohit Sharma and star batter Virat Kohli will be marking their return to the T20I side in the upcoming series for the first time after the T20 World Cup 2022.
