The Champions Trophy was another successful tournament for the Indian team. They won their seventh ICC men’s title after beating New Zealand in a hard-fought final match at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, March 09.
Rohit Sharma's leading-from-the-front knock and exceptional bowling spells received the majority of the credit in India's win in the summit clash. However, a few important contributions from the team went under noticed. One such noticeable knock was by KL Rahul, who finished with an unbeaten 34 from 33 balls as the Men in Blue won the match by four wickets and an over to spare.
Taking to social media after the game, Rahul posted two pictures from the ground after the game. In one picture, his jersey, the iconic white coat along with the winning medal and silverware are laid on the 22-yards, whereas the cricketer can be seen biting the medal with his teeth in the other picture. "Slowly sinking in," he captioned the post on 'X', followed by a medal and a blue heart emoji.
