The third day of the Australia vs Pakistan Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground witnessed a gripping display of resilience by the Australian team in their second innings. The day, however, was marred by interruptions due to rain and bad light, leading to an early end to the play.

Australian all-rounder Andrew Symonds, who tragically passed away in a car accident last year at the age of 46, had his legacy highlighted during the match. His children took on the roles of commentators and showcased their talents behind the mic, reminiscent of their late father's own foray into commentary post-retirement.

Notably, ahead of the third Test, members of the Pakistan team, including Shan Masood, Babar Azam, Muhammad Rizwan, Shaheen Afridi, and Haris Rauf, engaged warmly with Symonds' son in a heartwarming gesture, showcasing respect and admiration for the late cricketing legend.

Here's the video of Symonds' kids gracing the commentary box:

Despite the weather interruptions, Australia's steadfastness frustrated Pakistan, who managed to secure only two wickets on the second day of Australia's second innings. The match, poised delicately, promises further enthralling action as it progresses, adding another chapter to the rich cricketing history at the iconic SCG.

Symonds left behind a legacy to remember

Symonds, a formidable force in cricket, had an illustrious career representing Australia. His prowess as an all-rounder was evident across formats, with a staggering 26 Test matches, 198 ODIs, and 14 Twenty20 appearances under his belt. Renowned for his powerful batting, versatile bowling encompassing both medium pace and off-spin, and exceptional fielding, Symonds was an integral part of Australia's successful campaigns in multiple World Cups and the memorable Ashes triumph against England in 2006-07.

Often labelled as a specialist in white-ball cricket, Symonds defied limitations, proving his mettle in Test cricket as well. His Test record of 1462 runs at an impressive average of 40.61, coupled with his knack for taking crucial wickets, solidified his status as a well-rounded cricketer.
