The infamous animated chat between Lucknow Super Giants owner, Sanjiv Goenka and KL Rahul caught everyone’s attention. People strayed away from sipping coffee over Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma who created havoc at the Uppal Stadium in Hyderabad. Rather, the talking point was Goenka exuding improper demeanour which seemed to school Rahul after SRH chased LSG’s 166-run target in 9.5 overs.

While Goenka admitted that the chat was a normal affair, the LSG skipper’s fans demanded he change allegiance with a different franchise. The wicketkeeper-batter hails from Karnataka and for obvious reasons, fans across and back home advised him to share goods with Royal Challengers Bengaluru. As the rumours have started to catch pace with every passing moon, Rahul has deployed a ‘hopeful’ stand when confronted with the question.

“I am a die-hard RCB fan. I have been following RCB for a very long, and you playing past in RCB, and now definitely the rumours; I won’t say anything. But yeah, I am just wishing and praying that you come into RCB and rock here,” the fan said in a viral video.

Rahul replied by saying, “Let’s hope so.”

Here’s Rahul’s response to fan query:

The right-handed batter represented RCB in four seasons before he made Sunrisers Hyderabad his new camp. He captained and played for Punjab Kings before Lucknow Super Giants assumed his services in 2022. The 32-year-old started his IPL career with RCB in 2013 and 11 years down the line fans have urged his comeback as the franchise still manages to woe the audience without claiming the trophy.
